First responders, emergency managers and veterans will take this course to understand the theory behind their practice and increase their professional capacity when responding to a major emergency. This course is also aimed at personnel who form part of the Emergency Response organization.

The learning outcomes for the module are as follows:

  1. Explain the core concepts & principles of IMS
  2. Explain how IMS is implemented in simple and complex incidents.
  3. Explain the key terms, acronyms and symbols used in IMS.
